1889 Appleton's Chart Primer

Nice old Child's School book published in 1889 by D. Appleton & Company, New York; 48 pp; Measures 7 by 6 inches

Condition: Interior very good with signs of wear attendant with age and use. Cover has signs of obvious wear but still strong and stable.

Black and white illustrations with 3 color plates (see photos).

The unusual thing (to me) is the presence high quality of color plates in a primer. I've collected Primers over the years and, while I've seen a few early ones such as Peters with hand coloring, I've never had one with color plates.

This book makes a wonderful addition to a collection of children's books.
