The new 3ds xl just needs a new motherboard, triggers, and circle pad (the plastic part, not high quality the electric part) i think, while the original 3ds needs a new trigger, sd card, and housing. But the o3ds does turn on already. I included a charger and replacement buttons that fit the New 3ds XL, and batteries for both are also included.
