3D printed thoracic skeleton created using DICOM files from CT scan images
The print-making process:
1) Models are created and edited from personal DICOM files (these are located on the CD or directory in a folder labelled "DICOM")
2) Baseplate and name are created in 3D modeling program. The plate is customized to display name, date of surgery, Haller index, and surgeon. Can add other details as requested.
3) Plate and skeleton are printed in resin using stereolithography (SLA) printer.
4) Post-processing with removal of support structures, sanding and polishing
5) Treatment with epoxy resin to harden skeleton and add weight to base high quality
