Pictures: Yes, there are black and white book plates. Most have tissue paper over them to protect them.
Condition: Poor. The pages appear to all be present but they are very much discolored or falling out. You can however still read the black type just fine. The cover is falling off and has been retired several times. The spine has completely fallen off. The book is AS IS and very much a project book.
About: This book is the works of Robert Burns and contains the poetry and songs he wrote. It also contains his correspondences with those around him. The book is beautiful with is black bold type and beautiful black and white book plates. This edition has a Preface written by Allen Cunningham and a Dedication by Robert Burns.
A bit of history about Robert Burns. He was born in 1759 in Scotland and died in 1796. He was only 37 years old. He is considered the national poet of Scotland and is also considered the pioneer of the Romantic Movement. Some poems that are widely known around the world are "A Red, Red Rose", "To a Louse", "The Battle of Sherramuir", and "Ae Fond Kiss".
